New Project: Bathroom Gut Job Part 7 Update - Vanity & Floor

What a week {or week and a half} it has been for this bathroom renovation! The floor is done, plus I was also able to do something fun on the vanity so it doesn’t look so IKEA-ey. Keep reading to see!

First, the floor. If you recall, I switched from this flooring design to this one for many reasons. I wonder if I ended up making it more challenging in the end because of the design {keep reading to see why}, but it’s too late now and I absolutely love how this one turned out. It was meant to be

The floor moved much more quickly than the shower which I was grateful for. I chose the bathtub as my starting point and the first row took the longest to make sure it all lined up. After that, I got into a rhythm and was able to move quickly.

It did get a little challenging at times because the squares were easier to push down than the hexagons so I had to be careful with those so they wouldn’t be too low. They were also easier to move on the sheet so I had to pay attention to the grout spacing. But just like with the shower, I learned so much and am beyond happy with how it turned out!

I wanted to add pops of black so before grout, I popped out some of the white squares and replaced them with black for a little design.

Next up, grout! I planned on using the same color as I did in the shower, but after talking to my friend who has penny tile with a lighter grout {and a boy older than Asher 😉}, I went with one that was one shade darker.

With all the white tile I was putting in the bathroom, I decided the vanity was in need of a makeover. The only option {IMO} was that it needed to be wood. Liquid Wood from RetiqueIt in the color Pecan to the rescue! I’ll go in more detail about this vanity in a separate post {you can see an another furniture piece I did here}, but for now, isn’t she a beut???

You can find everything I used to tile the shower and floors here. Next up on this bathroom gut job renovation, the finishing touches.

We are almost to the end! Stick around to see the final reveal, but in the meantime, what do you think about the floor?

with love, andi
