New Project Alert: Bathroom Gut Job

Welcome to our latest adventure! I’m taking on a project that's been on my mind for 6 years: gutting and renovating our kids' bathroom. This space is in desperate need of an upgrade, and I’m excited {+ nervous} to dive in and transform it from top to bottom.

This bathroom screamed late 90’s, early 2000’s when we moved in. Over time, I’ve done a few bandaid makeovers, but I am so excited to finally do a gut bathroom remodel. Our house is a 1929 Cottage Tudor so my whole goal is to create a timeless space.

The Plan

I'll be breaking down this renovation into different parts:

  1. Demo: Out with the old! This is where we strip everything back to the basics.

  2. Floor: I have a crazy idea for the flooring; a twist on traditional hexagon tile. Fingers cross I survive this one.

  3. Shower: Installing a new shower that’s both functional and stylish with a classic subway tile.

  4. Walls: Floor to ceiling bead board + color drenching.

  5. Finishing Touches: Adding those final details that make the space complete.

Each step will come with its own set of challenges and triumphs, and I promise to share it all with you—the good, the bad, and everything in between. If you want to see the everything in between, you can follow along in stories on Instagram. Since this will be my first time doing a complete bathroom gut job, I will be sharing all the things, even the tears 😅

Inspiration: The Mood Board

Before jumping into the nitty-gritty of the renovation, let’s talk about inspiration. I've created a mood board that reflects the vision I have for this space. My goal is to create a bathroom that’s not only functional but also fun and inviting for our little ones while withstanding time.
