How to Make Your Own Simple Homemade Clean Deodorant
/A year ago I went on a journey to finding the perfect clean deodorant. After trying two that gave me armpit rash up the wahzoo, I found one I really liked, but it was $12. I know that isn’t terrible compared to some other clean deodorants, but we’ve been working on ways to cut costs and it was always hard paying $12 when it was sitting right next to one that was $4.
I was telling my friend about this whole debacle and she told me that she has been making her own for years, saying it was the easiest thing to do and she would never go back to store bought deodorant.
She sent me the ingredients {a whopping 4 ingredients} and I immediately ordered the one I didn’t have on hand. Here we are a year later and I just had to mix up my second batch. Just like my friend, I will never go back to store bought deodorant!

Here’s how to make your own simple homemade clean deodorant. Let me tell you…it is so easy! And so cheap!
Simple Homemade Clean Deodorant
Ingredients
1/4 cup arrowroot powder
1/4 cup baking soda
6 tbsp coconut oil
6 drops essential oil of choice {my favorite is lavender}
Steps
In a small bowl, mix arrowroot powder and baking soda together. Make sure to get all the baking soda clumps out.
Add in coconut oil and essential oil of your choice and thoroughly mix.
Store in a small mason jar.
How to Use
They have deodorant sticks you can purchase, but I just keep mine in the mason jar and scoop out the tiniest scoop {a little really goes a long way} and rub on my pits. In the summer, I sometimes have to reapply in the afternoon, but I also had to do that my $12 store bought one 😝
Tips
If you notice that your arms are getting a little rashy due to the baking soda, you can substitute more arrowroot powder in it’s place.
I use this underarm detox scrub a few times a week and I think it makes a huge difference. A little goes a long way; I am only half through the jar and I purchased it a year ago.
